H - Hoffman Estates District 211 Gifted Education Mentorship Program. The program's purpose is to provide support challenge and exposure to new ideas for the district's talented students. This assistance is provided through a triad relationship with a teacher who serves as the mentor, the gifted education specialist for the school, and the gifted student.

Mentors and gifted students take a one semester course which requires, among other things, work together on an independent project. In 1992 the course was taught by Richard Lange, the Gifted Teacher and Staff Development Coordinator in Prospect Heights, IL. The course met from 4;30-8 PM for seven times. mentors are matched in December and january of the sophomore year of the student and the mentoring is conducted during the second semester. The year ends with a Gifted Expo to showcase the projects.
