Mentor & Induction Program Coordinator Roles

The following is a very basic outline of the kinds of responsibilities that Mentoring and Induction Program Coordinators often fulfill. When a specific part of these responsibilities is a link, that link will take you to another web page with greater details on that part.

Mentor Coordinator Role Options:

1. Administrator:

  • Plan, arrange, schedule group, small group, and individual participant meetings, and meetings with staff who are external to program
  • Administer budgets, stipends & other costs
  • Set performance expectations for mentors, generally, as during trainings and in communications, and individually with program participants
  • Monitor the success and improvement of program functions and their leaders
  • Evaluate program & plan improvements
  • Reporting to Board of Education and periodically to administrators

  • Resolve mentor/protege mismatches
  • Trouble shoot with persons not meeting program expectations
  • Resolve scheduling & program problems
